We respect and encourage the right of independence of all Service Users and support individual choice and personal decision-making as the right of all people.

All daily activities are tailored to individual Service User needs and wishes. All activities encourage the Service User to be as involved and independent as possible, from planning, organising and carrying out their chosen activity.

The use of facilities in the local and larger community is encouraged wherever possible, from the nearby swimming pools, parks and shopping areas.

Physical activity to enhance sensory diets and healthy living is constantly encouraged and access to the nearby beaches, moorland and woodlands to participate in walks, cycling and other outdoor activities is always enabled.

Opportunities

We recognise the individual need for personal fulfilment and offer individualised programmes of meaningful activity to satisfy that need of Service Users and staff.

Accredited Learning -Iota Care believes that providing opportunities for continued learning is crucial for personal development. For some people this may be appropriate to achieve via recognised accreditation bodies such as ASDAN or Care Skills Academy.

Holidays -Iota Care has the use of a 3 bedroom holiday home bungalow in Perranporth, Cornwall which is situated near to the beach. This can be accessed for short breaks away from the home or longer holidays if desired. All service users are supported to take holidays of their choice, away from The Home.

Transitions

Iota care understands that transitions can be very distressing, not only for the young person but their family and friends too.

From initial contact, our priority will be to ensure all your needs and desires are listened to and an individual, carefully planned strategy is implemented. This may include visits to The Home and overnight stays, Iota Care staff spending time working with Service Users in their current setting and carers from there coming to assist and support within Iota’s home.

Whatever the plan, Iota will recognise the individual uniqueness of individuals and fully support along the way.

Working closely with the individual, family and professionals we ensure there is compatibility with the people already living in the home.
